For the past few years Northern Lights Ceilidh Band has provided entertainment for the Burns Night Supper at Gisborough Hall – an ivy-clad country house hotel which combines modern day luxury with traditional features.
After the lockdown break, we are delighted to announce that Northern Lights will be back at Gisborough Hall again on Saturday, 22 January 2022. The evening begins with a traditional Burns Night meal and some Robbie Burns tunes from Northern Lights. After supper, Northern Lights will draw the guests to the dance floor with their lively music and enthusiastic caller, who will ensure that a great time is had by all.

We hope to see you there.

Northern Lights Ceilidh Band’s 20th anniversary celebrations had to be cancelled last year due to lockdown restrictions. However, Northern Lights are back in action again and ready to help you celebrate your very special event.

Why a ceilidh?
A ceilidh is a very popular form of entertainment for so many special occasions, and is a great way of bringing people together. Over the years, Northern Lights Ceilidh Band have provided music for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, retirements, christenings and corporate events.

Who are we?
Northern Lights Ceilidh Band is based in the Tyne Valley of Northumberland. The band first came together in 1999 and a few months later started taking ceilidh bookings. Since then they have never looked back!

Where?
The band play at venues all over the North of England – in particular Northumberland, Newcastle, Durham and Cumbria. Over the years some of the more sumptuous venues have been Newcastle United Football Stadium, Durham Masonic Hall and Durham Town Hall, but many of the smaller venues are equally memorable for their charm and audience enthusiasm. This year, since lockdown ended, Northern Lights have provided ceilidhs for weddings in the Biscuit Room (Newcastle), Blaithwaite House (Cumbria) and Headlam Hall (near Darlington).

What will it sound like?
Northern Lights’ instruments include concertina, fiddle, flute, melodeon, piano and guitar. The blend of these instruments creates a unique and exciting sound which will make you want to leap on to the dance floor. No previous experience is necessary – just come along and our experienced caller will guide you through the dances.

Why not book this great ceilidh band for your own special occasion!
